Getting to the Lighthouse
By Land
West of Sequim on Highway 101, turn north on Kitchen-Dick Road. Continue 3 miles to Dungeness Recreation Area. Go through the recreation area to the Refuge parking lot. An easy 3/8 mile trail takes visitors through forest to an overlook on the bluff above Dungeness Spit. The trail continues down a steep hill to the spit and becomes a 4-1/2 mile beach walk to the lighthouse. Please stay on the trails.
By Sea
Public boat launches are located off the Refuge on Cline Spit and near the Oyster House. Cline Spit and the Oyster House are located off Marine Drive. From downtown Sequim, travel north on Sequim Avenue, which turns into Sequim-Dungeness Way. Stay on Sequim-Dungeness way 5.5 miles, Follow Dungeness Scenic Loop signs past the old white schoolhouse, cross the Dungeness River, continuing on to Marine Drive, which will be on your left. Continue towards the water, the Oyster House is located straight off of Marine Drive. Cline Spit is located a little further continuing on Marine Drive and forks off towards the water. Boats may land only at the designated landing site near the Lighthouse. Advance reservations required for boating in; call 360-457-8451.
The Sequim Dungeness Area
Sequim is in the center of the North Olympic Peninsula, just minutes from the Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend and Port Angeles, the gateway to Victoria, British Columbia and Olympic National Park.
From Seattle take the Seattle/Bainbridge Island Ferry. From Bainbridge, follow Highway 305 to Highway 3 in Poulsbo. Take Highway 3 to State Highway 104 crossing the Hood Canal Bridge. Continue on Highway 104 to U S Highway 101. Take Highway 101 west for 21 miles to Sequim. Take the Washington St., Sequim Ave. or River Rd. exits to take you into Sequim.
From Tacoma go west over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on Highway 16 to Bremerton. In Bremerton, connect with Highway 3 to State Highway 104 crossing the Hood Canal Bridge. Continue on Highway 104 to U S Highway 101. Take Highway 101 west for 21 miles to Sequim. Take the Washington St., Sequim Ave. or River Rd. exits to take you into Sequim.
From Olympia go north on US Highway 101 to Sequim. Take the Washington St., Sequim Ave. or River Rd. exits to take you into Sequim.
Coming from the west follow U S Highway 101 to the Sequim. Take the River Road or Sequim Ave. exits to take you into Sequim.
